In the fourth quarter of 2024, the carpooling and ridesharing app market in Italy saw distinct trends in downloads and active user engagement, according to Sensor Tower data.

Uber - Request a ride showed a notable increase in weekly downloads, starting the quarter at 29.4K and peaking at 51.4K in the final week of December. Weekly active users fluctuated, beginning at approximately 394K, dipping mid-quarter, and then rising to around 418K by the end of the year.

Bolt: Request a Ride experienced a gradual increase in downloads, starting at 15.1K and reaching 26.8K in the last week of the quarter. Active users followed a relatively stable pattern, hovering around 149K by the end of December.

Wayla saw significant growth in downloads, beginning with a mere 33 downloads and reaching a high of 25.3K in early November. However, active user data was not available.

BlaBlaCar: Carpooling and Bus maintained a consistent download rate, starting at 4.4K and ending slightly lower at 3.9K. Active users showed a steady increase, growing from 98.2K to 121.1K over the quarter.

Lastly, Grab: Taxi Ride, Food Delivery had a gradual rise in downloads, with numbers increasing from 2.3K to 5.5K. Weekly active users also increased, starting at 135K and reaching 174K by the end of December.
